Learning a new language

We made a video talking about five language tips we've accumulated over the years. We filmed this while fasting so bear with us if we seem tired, sleepy and if our sentences make no sense whatsoever--this is normal. :D

One thing I didn't mention in the video was to choose a language that you like to hear/listen to/speak. This was the main reason I chose French in high school because, at the time, French was a prettier sounding language to me. You want to choose a language that you enjoy learning so studying is fun! You want to be interested in the language, culture, country, and people so that you can stay motivated and have fun learning.

As for Korean, I credit my motivation to TalkToMeInKorean for having an awesome site. I found them after frantically researching all options and almost losing hope. They continue to inspire me and challenge me to learn Korean. And for them I am super grateful. :)

Can you add to our list of language learning tips? Comment below!

  1. Awesome video! I really needed to hear this today. I'm about to try studying Korean ALL DAY. I really second all this, it was so helpful back home. Even though it was a year before I could be here doing these things made it so easy to understand people in Korea and to get by. I wish I had had a language buddy though T^T Even now, not many foreigners around me are interested in learning Korean. I'm going to go watch me some k-dramas now hehe ^^

    P.S. TTMIK 짱!!!!!
